# Payees API

The **Payees API** enables you to create, retrieve, and list payee identities. Each payee represents an individual that can receive funds through the Payouts API.

## Payees

A **Payee** represents an individual in the system. Each payee has a unique identifier, personal information, and can be associated with one or more payment methods for receiving funds.
